Weekend in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 11/10/13, a customer aged 18-24 who stayed at 3* Mercure Edinburgh City Princes Street Hotel in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Had a lovely weekend in Edinburgh staying at the Mercure hotel which is perfectly located in the centre of Edinburgh. The hotel is very good quality and well worth the extra cost of staying See More  Read more information centrally and has fantastic views of the castle from the bedroom window. For the first time in Edinburgh we had to visit the castle which was interesting, however I'm not sure it was truly worth the money totake the full tour. I would recommend getting the bus to Ocean Terminal and visiting the Royal Yacht Britannia. Great historical city and lovely visit.   Collapse  Hide

Stay at the Holiday Inn Zoo Hotel

Stay Date: 26/10/13, a customer aged 25-44 who stayed at 4* Holiday Inn Edinburgh (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Edinburgh wrote this review.

The hotel was situated well in relation to Edinburgh, a short bus ride to town. Bus drivers were helpful announcing our stop so we knew where to get off. We took advantage of the hotels offer of See More  Read more information half price zoo after 2pm. This didn't enable the viewing of the pandas as it was fully booked by then. Zoo a little disappointing as there was a lack of things for the children to do at the animalpens and there was a lack of interest at most of them too. Needs more animals! We took a trip to the Castle well worth a visit so much history too view, take a warm wind proof jacket and goodwalking shoes, lots of steps. Great day were got there early and it soon filled up! Great for shops although I did resist most just one department store that had great architecture! History museum wasa must great for children and adults alike, it was packed with interesting, interacting learning stations, although was unamused that there was telephones and computers in there that I used it use!!Ha ha ha would go again yes! All in all great holiday inn. Drink prices outrageous bottle of wine ?23+ plus beer ?4.80 no chance of getting too merry. Great deal on the dinner b&b would recommend toall!   Collapse  Hide

Great Day in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 30/10/13, a customer aged 45-64 from Bracknell who stayed at 4* Ben Doran in Edinburgh wrote this review.

We started the day by taking a Mac bus your through the Old Town. Like most city tours you can jump on and off the bus. The tour guides were entertaining and informative. We jumped off the bus to See More  Read more information visit Edinburgh Castle which has various museums with interesting and easy to read displays. However there were a lot if people there and walking slowly through the exhibition to see the Scottish CrownJewels became very claustrophobic. The one o'clock cannon was impressive and we managed to see it peering through the crowds. The cafe was crowded but we found a seat however the food was notbrilliant for the money. We finished the day with a drink in The Deacon Brody pub followed by tea in Zizzis. Both of wish we're welcoming with excellent service. Overall a lovely day and the sun shone!   Collapse  Hide
