What We Found

Stay Date: 23/12/14, a customer aged 65+ who stayed at 3* Brownsover Hall Hotel in Rugby wrote this review.

The two of us spent four nights at Brownsover Hall during Christmas week. We found: 1 Extensive wooded grounds sloping down to a disused canal and bridge.. 2 Plenty of parking front and rear of See More  Read more information the hotel. 3 A fascinating historic main building externally and internally but lacking both a lift and a lounge. There is some seating in two transit areas. 4 A twin bedroom with very comfortablebeds, limited drawer space; no double glazing to the old sash window; no central heating just a single small wall-mounted panel heater. 5 En suite bathroom also unheated but for the single towel rail;black mould on the bottom frame of the single glazed window. 6 Food throughout was enjoyable (breakfast particularly) though not quite haute cuisine. 7 Service. For the most part staff wereefficient, responsive to requests and friendly. Little apparent senior management engagement with guests. This hotel remains a three star because, despite aiming higher, it lacks facilities which aresimply taken for granted these days.   Collapse  Hide

Our weekend in Birmingham

Stay Date: 16/01/15, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Hallmark Hotel Birmingham (2 Night Offer/ 1st Night Dinner & Wine or Afternoon Tea) in Birmingham wrote this review.

Unfortunately the appearance from the outside is deceptive as all the windows are badly in need of cleaning which is a shame when you walk through the doors it is a different story. Hotel foyer, See More  Read more information bar and restaurant are modern and well decorated. Reception staff friendly and efficient and importantly very knowledgeable re-local area and attractions including public transport where there is abus stop outside the hotel with frequent services into the centre of Birmingham. Rooms are small, also the walls are paper thin you could hear everything people were saying in the next room andoutside in the corridor when walking past late at night. We go to Birmingham every year to see the strictly dancing live show the NIA has recently been refurbished and it shows it is now sports a modernfeel to it from when you walk up the steps through the foyers. We would definitely recommend anybody going to Birmingham to walk along the canals both relaxing and interesting again clearly a lotof work has gone into creating the right atmosphere and it is very well maintained. Shopping is well catered for both in the bull ring and New street with other areas only a short walk away. Woulddefinitely recommend it as an alternative to London.   Collapse  Hide

Super break with Superbreak

Stay Date: 09/01/15, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Sedgebrook Hall (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Northampton wrote this review.

I do not normally write reviews but I was so impressed, I had to write this one. The Hotel was excellent, great facilities, great food. Great location and great team of staff. The free dinner on the See More  Read more information first night was high class for the amount paid. I thought the hospitality area where you could have free coffee and not just any old coffee but Dow Egberts latte, cappuccino, mocha etc a largeselection fine teas plus complimentary biscuits, fruit and sweets throughout the day was a really nice gesture. As was the chill out areas situated around the building and I was amazed to see an ice machinewhich I thought was a very good idea. Would definitely recommend, and would visit again.   Collapse  Hide
