It is all going on in Birmingham

Stay Date: 04/02/15, a customer aged 65+ who stayed at 4* Jurys Inn Birmingham in Birmingham wrote this review.

Went to Birmingham by train, plenty of trains so not too much waiting about, New Street station is still unfinished so it was difficult to fine our way out to where we wanted to be, signage was not See More  Read more information good and lots of building going on. Going home because we had wandered about the shopping centre we had difficulty finding the entrance to the station. The Jury Inn was very well situated forSymphony Hall and our concert as well as walking distance from museums, restaurants and shopping etc. plenty to see and do - City is BUZZING There is something for all tastes. We went to the Symphony Hallfor a concert, it is a great venue. Parking is expensive and roads very busy difficult driving if you are not sure of your way and due to roadworks in the centre Jury Inn - the room was spacious, two king sized beds, spare pillows, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, a bit sparse on the soaps etc. only liquid hand soap provided Plenty of teas and coffees in room, also handy was a SainsburyExpress just across the road where we bought milk and snacks. It was cold weather, but hotel was warm, room heating was adjustable so we could turn it down at night. Used hotel bar, was reasonably pricedand seating was comfortable, left bar at 12.30 and bar was still open and serving. Restaurant in Art Gallery is good, huge comfortable seats and does lovely afternoon teas, not cheap though.Shopping is good, but I found the Rag Market really vibrant, very cosmopolitan, busy and somehow exciting. I did not buy anything but if you like markets and that sort of street trading it is worth a visitfor the atmosphere, best done an a busy day to get best from it.   Collapse  Hide
