Snowy Bank Holiday in Brigthon

Stay Date: 20/03/08, a customer who stayed at 4* The Old Ship Hotel in Brighton wrote this review.

Terrible weather but despite reports to the contrary from sites such as this the hotel turned out pretty well. The room was noisy up on the 4th floor with people screaming as the pubs/clubs kicked See More  Read more information out in the early hours and lorrys removing rubbish from the big hotel next door but it was comfortable enough if a little tired in decor. Breakfast was excellent and staff were attentive enough andfriendly. Pity the lift broke down when we were there though!   Collapse  Hide

Stratford

Stay Date: 29/03/08, a customer from Birmingham who stayed at 2* Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton wrote this review.

We arrived the Friday evening, very happy with the hotel. We went to the nearby Thai restaurant which, whilst the food was good, was VERY expensive. The next day we took the hop on/hop off bus See More  Read more information around Stratford, stopping at two places (Shakespeare's and Anne Hathaway's place) and then after or evening meal we took in the Merchant of Venice, which was fabulous. I am a lifelong Shakespeare fan,and my husband, who is American, was interested in seeing a Shakespeare play in it's original home, having only seen American TV adaptations. He hung onto his seat in the tense courtroom scene ("thepound of flesh") and laughed at the fast paced comedy, with it's intermittent intense drama. He recognised several phrases which have become sayings amongst us ("I'll have my bond!" and "The quality omercy is not strained....") and was so impressed that we have rebooked to see a Midsummer Night's Dream in July, when we will spend another weekend here with a Superbreak hotel. It snowed too! whichdid not detract from our stay.   Collapse  Hide

Staying at the Old Ship Hotel, Brighton

Stay Date: 19/09/08, a customer from Bexleyheath who stayed at 4* The Old Ship Hotel in Brighton wrote this review.

The hotel is right on the sea front and I got the quiet room I'd specified. It meant no sea view of course but that was a small price to pay for a good night's sleep. The room was a single and far See More  Read more information more spacious than most single rooms I've stayed in. The atmosphere at the hotel is relaxed and friendly and I would recommend it.   Collapse  Hide

Late summer sun puts the 'Bright' in Brighton

Stay Date: 14/09/08, a customer from Rossendale who stayed at 4* Mercure Brighton Seafront in Brighton wrote this review.

A great day for roaming around the area helped by the excellent public transport and day ticket used to good effect - made up for the rather pricey parking at the hotel. Hotel comfortable with See More  Read more information modern rooms, if slightly dated communal areas and very convenient for the City Centre and seafront. Not the easiest place to find after dark if you don't know the area so well ! Very handy ChineseRestaurant just a short stroll along the front serving some great food in a nice atmosphere.   Collapse  Hide
