Queens garden party

Stay Date: 02/06/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Wakefield who stayed at 3* Bedford Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

The super break package was excellent value for money. We took advantage of the hotel/rail package and enjoyed three days in London. It was a shame the June weather let us down, however, that was a See More  Read more information minor inconvenience. The hotel the Bedford was centrally located and although a little tired was clean and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and the service at breakfast was first class. Theafternoon was spent at Coventry garden where we enjoyed the street entertainment, shopping and local bars. We were fortunate to have friends in London and were entertained to an excellent ninth outin London starting at the impressive private Home House club with drinks in the garden followed by dinner at Scalinis a traditional italian restaurant with an extensive menu and wine list. Tuesdaywas a very special day as we were guests at the queens garden party. A truly British event full of pride pomp and ceremony. Her majesty came out to meet her guests at 4pm only to be met by a down pour. However she was not phased and continued to meet and greet. What a great lady.   Collapse  Hide

London

Stay Date: 30/05/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Royal National Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

The hotel was huge. The area was noisy (but its London) so it was expected. The room was adequate however, we had no tv remote, the cold water tap did not work on the sink, the towels were no bigger See More  Read more information than a hand towel and no shampoo/conditioners! We didn't eat the breakfast, our other friends did & said it was very poor. Great location, with shops, bars & places to eat not only at the hotelbut also close by. Checking in & out there were no problems. Room was clean.   Collapse  Hide

3 Generations of Girls in London

Stay Date: 23/05/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Imperial Hotel London in Russell Square wrote this review.

Hotel room, in The Imperial Hotel, was located to the rear so was lovely and quiet. Two single beds and a sofa bed, fab. Room size, big. Dining room for breakfast, lovely. Breakfast quality, could See More  Read more information have been better. Hotel staff lovely, helpful, very professional, one of the concierge staff has greeted us on three occasions over the last seven years, shows the hotel management treat their staffwell. Location great, twenty minute walk from Kings Cross, beautiful park across the road with a lovely eating venue serving snacks, light meals and delicious cakes. Hotel very central for theunderground and other lovely places to eat. Prior to this visit I googled a lot of venues for visiting and for eating/drinking in, this made our break more enjoyable because we had an itinerary of sorts. Wentto see Billy Elliot the Musical and thanks to Superbreak we got three of the best seats in the house, we all loved it. Only downside of our break was the owner of the Thai restaurant (which served usthe most beautiful meal) would not accept my mum's Scottish bank notes(this is legal tender throughout the UK!) and slapped a 7.5% service charge on to the final bill without prior notice (you areentitled to refuse to pay this). All in all, thanks to Superbreak (who saved us over ?200 compared to a quote for exactly the same provided by a well known travel agent) an 8, 48 and 67 year old had agreat girly weekend in London.   Collapse  Hide

GREAT 2 DAY BREAK

Stay Date: 20/05/14, a customer aged 65+ from Wellingborough who stayed at 3* Tavistock Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

Hotel is very central for most things. Especially for the theatre area. Allocated a very small room, staff change rooms for me without any trouble. Hotel is a very busy one, staff are very friendly, See More  Read more information and helpful. Reception & bar area is 1930's style, so adds to a bit of ambiance, to the older generation. Prices are very good, especially for London, no rip-off. After check-out you can leave yourcases, in Porter Room, to be collected later, at ?0.50 per case. Breakfast is buffet style, so you won't go hungry. Overall I would recommend it -- but it's not the Ritz, so don't expect 5 star. For acouple of nights in theatre land area of London, it's ideal. The hotel group has 5 more hotels in the group, all close by, which you can use. So if you have time, check these out for reference of afuture stay, these also won't break the bank in costs. Going back for an overnight stay in a few weeks, so it must be O.K.   Collapse  Hide

London Break

Stay Date: 23/05/14, a customer aged 65+ from Winchester who stayed at 3* Imperial Hotel London in Russell Square wrote this review.

The Imperial Hotel is in a good location for visiting the British Museum and is not too far from the theatres. The hotel itself is adequate, but no more. If I stay in that area of London again, See More  Read more information it would not be at this hotel. There are plenty of other hotels in the area to choose from.   Collapse  Hide
