Belgium Holiday Reviews

Manneken Pis, Brussels, Belgium

Belgium is renowned for its luxurious chocolate, unique beer, world-class art and fairytale castles. Enjoy a romantic canal cruise in Bruges or shop in Antwerp's exquisite diamond boutiques. Brussels offers diverse architectural styles and atmospheric nightlife in the stylish Art Nouveau grand cafes.

As well as flights, Belgium is well connected via the Eurostar network with direct trains from London to Brussels. From Brussels you can travel onwards to Bruges, Ghent and Ostend using local rail services. You can also travel to Belgium via P and O ferries with daily sailings from Hull to Zeebrugge.

  • Brussels is Belgium's largest city and also the capital but still retains a small town charm and a cosmopolitan atmosphere thanks to its mix of French and Flemish cultures. Don't miss the world-famous Mannekin Pis, the futuristic Atomium and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts.
  • Bruges also known as "the Venice of the North" is an historic and picturesque town close to the North Sea coast. Famous as a centre for trade and commerce during the Middle Ages, Bruges boasts magnificent medieval buildings such as the Church of our Lady who's tower gives incredible views across the town and beyond.
  • Antwerp is world-renowned for its trade in diamonds. Be sure to visit the Diamond Quarter which is a short walk from the city's main shopping streets. Antwerp is also famous as a centre of the arts with paintings by artists such as Rubens and van Dyck displayed in historic buildings and museums around the city.
Whether you choose to visit Brussels, Bruges or Antwerp or other Belgian towns such as Liege, Namur or Ostend; we're sure you'll love a SuperBreak to Belgium.

3 night stay in Bruges

Stay Date: 03/03/15, a customer aged 65+ who stayed at 4* Hotel Academie in Bruges wrote this review.

A good hotel with an extensive quality breakfast buffet. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The room was larger than average and was clean and well appointed. Like most hotels in Bruges the hotel See More  Read more information was central to all main tourist venues and very close to train and bus stations. Our stay was in early March and the town was just getting crowded. It would be best to avoid the high season. Weenjoyed just walking round Bruges - it's very photogenic. The town is very compact and the outer ring of canals can be managed in less than two hours. we would not recommend Bruges to disabled peopledue to the ubiquitous cobbles and poor access in some areas. We were not very adventurous with eating out in Bruges but it's worth trying the mussels, fries, waffles and chocolate (every other shopsells this). Sampling the large variety of local beers is an interesting exercise.   Collapse  Hide

Great mini cruise to Bruges and Flanders

Stay Date: 14/03/15, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* P&O Minicruise and Stay/Novotel Ypres inc Flanders Field Guided Tour in Ypres wrote this review.

We really enjoyed the whole experience. Chris was a fantastic host and the little personal touch of chocolates for mothers day was a lovely gesture. The only problem was not being able to find the See More  Read more information stairs as an alternative to the lifts in the hotel. There was no signs and the lifts got full very easily with luggage. The museum in Ypres was very good and more time was needed but ours was cutshort by the cycle race. Thank you super break it was the first time we had booked with you but would again. I will continue to recommend you to everyone I know.   Collapse  Hide

It was a relaxing weekend. Everything in easy reach of the hotel. Spent most of the time walking. Did not see a street we wouldn't want to live on or a pub we wouldn't want to drink in. See More  Read more information   Collapse  Hide

Bruges in a weekend.

Stay Date: 10/04/15, a customer aged 45-64 from Chichester who stayed at 5* Dukes Palace Hotel in Bruges wrote this review.

Our superior room was on the top floor and was nothing special. The hotel restaurant was really special though. We had the 4 course Terre et Mer menu, which was excellent and good value. I'd See More  Read more information recommend eating there at least one evening. Visit the de Garre pub for a beer (well hidden).   Collapse  Hide

Beautiful Bruges

Stay Date: 18/04/15, a customer aged 65+ who stayed at 3* Bryghia Hotel in Bruges wrote this review.

The hotel was well situated in a quiet street next to a canal - old building tastefully furnished and decorated, an ideal location from which to explore this lovely city. Birthday break in Brugge

Stay Date: 10/08/15, a customer aged 25-44 from Liverpool who stayed at 4* Hotel Aragon in Bruges wrote this review.

We visited Brugge for my girlfriend's 30th birthday in August 2015. While it isn't the most romantic of destinations, it still has bags of charm and the buildings are stunning, both day and night. See More  Read more information We found the people to be friendly and welcoming and we didn't have a single bad meal while we were there. Be prepared for a lot of walking as this is the easiest way to get around, but thankfullyBrugge is very flat and easy on the legs. Locals seem to prefer to cycle everywhere so this can impact you getting around by foot, and we witnessed one or two irate cyclists struggling to get through theswarms of people. Overall it was a great trip and one I would recommend to couples more so than families with young children.   Collapse  Hide
