Belgium Holiday Reviews

Manneken Pis, Brussels, Belgium

Belgium is renowned for its luxurious chocolate, unique beer, world-class art and fairytale castles. Enjoy a romantic canal cruise in Bruges or shop in Antwerp's exquisite diamond boutiques. Brussels offers diverse architectural styles and atmospheric nightlife in the stylish Art Nouveau grand cafes.

As well as flights, Belgium is well connected via the Eurostar network with direct trains from London to Brussels. From Brussels you can travel onwards to Bruges, Ghent and Ostend using local rail services. You can also travel to Belgium via P and O ferries with daily sailings from Hull to Zeebrugge.

  • Brussels is Belgium's largest city and also the capital but still retains a small town charm and a cosmopolitan atmosphere thanks to its mix of French and Flemish cultures. Don't miss the world-famous Mannekin Pis, the futuristic Atomium and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts.
  • Bruges also known as "the Venice of the North" is an historic and picturesque town close to the North Sea coast. Famous as a centre for trade and commerce during the Middle Ages, Bruges boasts magnificent medieval buildings such as the Church of our Lady who's tower gives incredible views across the town and beyond.
  • Antwerp is world-renowned for its trade in diamonds. Be sure to visit the Diamond Quarter which is a short walk from the city's main shopping streets. Antwerp is also famous as a centre of the arts with paintings by artists such as Rubens and van Dyck displayed in historic buildings and museums around the city.
Whether you choose to visit Brussels, Bruges or Antwerp or other Belgian towns such as Liege, Namur or Ostend; we're sure you'll love a SuperBreak to Belgium.

STAFF REVIEW

Stay Date: 19/03/14, a customer from York who stayed at 5* Dukes Palace Hotel in Bruges wrote this review.

The Duke’s Palace is nothing short of extraordinary. The supreme level of luxury is to die for – the plush furniture, the spacious rooms, the comfy bed and the modern facilities are all of the very See More  Read more information highest order. The bathroom was so big, I could have easily had a party in there. Bruges itself is, of course, the star attraction – the pretty medieval town is primed for exploring from thiscentrally located hotel. The vibrant Market Square is a mere 5 minute walk away. The hotel’s breakfast was quite easily the best I’ve ever had; an extensive buffet of high quality foods, don’t miss theBelgian chocolate and Cava – surely the only way to set yourself up for the day. Staying in the five star luxury of this hotel felt very decadent indeed – I’d return in a heartbeat, and thoroughlyrecommend it for an extra-special stay in beautiful Bruges.   Collapse  Hide

Brussels City Break

Stay Date: 29/03/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Stockton-On-Tees who stayed at 4* Crowne Plaza Brussels in Brussels wrote this review.

Our hotel (Crowne Plaza, Brussels) was situated in the city centre. The hotel was very clean, the bed rooms adequately equipped and the evening menu creative. Staff at the hotel were very courteous See More  Read more information and spoke good English. The main shopping centre was within a short distance of the hotel; other attractions such as the Grand Place and the little boy statute were about 15 mins walk away. It'sworth taking in the two Brussels City Tour bus routes, a hop-on, hop-off service, which gives an idea what Brussels is like and also enables you to get your bearings. Many attractions are accessiblethis way such as the Parliamentarium and the Atominum. One of the highlights of our trip was seeing the Chinese President and his entourage arrive at the Sheraton Hotel, which was opposite. Tip: ifyou want to buy bottled Belgian beer, check out the Carrefour 'local' shop near the Grand Place. The price is very reasonable. For example some of the Leffe beers were almost twice the price in anearby specialist Belgian beer shop!   Collapse  Hide

Spring break in Antwerp

Stay Date: 28/03/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Esher who stayed at 3* Holiday Inn Express Antwerp in Antwerp wrote this review.

Having been to Bruges and Brussels and being a fan of Belgium beer and moules frittes we checked out Antwerp for a well-earned spring break. We stayed in Holiday Inn Express near the harbour. - See More  Read more information hotel great, warm, comfortable and some bars and restaurants near by. About a 15-20 min walk into old part of town but easy to get taxis if you don't fancy the walk. Antwerp is quieter and not so prettyas Bruges but still lots of good bars around and just about enough attractions to keep you occupied for a long weekend. Zoo worth a trip as is Ruben's house. People very friendly, very chilled andgenerally enjoying their city. A great relaxing weekend.   Collapse  Hide

Wonderful Bruges trip

Stay Date: 21/03/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Hotel Navarra Bruges in Bruges wrote this review.

The staff at the Hotel Navarra were welcoming and efficient. The room was smallish but well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The breakfasts were good although the cooked breakfast was quite See More  Read more information limited and never varied. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better, just a very short walk from the main Markt and all the major attractions. The hotel has a Wellness centre and nice swimmingpool but we hadn't realised this so had no swimming things unfortunately. Getting around was no problem as Bruges is very compact and everything is easily walkable. We were very impressed with thewhole trip.   Collapse  Hide
