Bayswater Holiday Reviews

Serpentine Lake, Bayswater

One of central London's most cosmopolitan areas, hotels in Bayswater benefit from fantastic links to the capital's most popular attractions whilst also offering a peaceful urban getaway in their own right. Bayswater sits on the north side of London's magnificent Hyde Park - well worth a visit at any time of year - and is made easy to reach when you're on a rail break to London with both Paddington station nearby.

Famed for its gorgeous Victorian properties, the Bayswater area is home to a diverse population; the area has a big Greek influence, lots of US ex-pats, and is also home to London's biggest Brazilian community. As such, Bayswater's busiest shopping street ? Queensway ? has a fantastic range of international restaurants and ethnic cuisine. Notting Hill to the west of Bayswater is renowned for both its vibrant atmosphere and its world-famous annual carnival.

  • Be sure to visit the traditional Portobello Road Market - just a short trip from Bayswater. The world's largest antiques market has over 1000 stalls and traders courting the business of passers-by, and is a quintessential London experience.
  • Also within walking distance is the staggeringly beautiful Kensington Palace. Home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - and formerly home to Princess Diana - the Palace's gardens are simply not to be missed.
  • Bayswater hotels are also ideally located for a shopping break -the area is just twenty minutes from both the high street heaven of Oxford Street and the trendy boutiques of Kensington.

A superb area to choose on your next short break to central London, be sure to check out our great range of Bayswater hotels below.

Short Break in London

Stay Date: 07/04/09, a customer who stayed at 3* Queens Park Hotel in Bayswater wrote this review.

Queenspark Hotel - room very clean, towels changed every day. Room was a bit small but we were only in it to sleep. The food at breakfast was an adequate continental breakfast but the breakfast room See More  Read more information was too small - there was never a table. It was understaffed - when food or cutlery ran out, there was a long wait for replenishments. The hotel was very near to restaurants and to the undergroundwhich was fabulous for getting around. The attractions we visited were excellent. All in all we had a thoroughly fabulous time. Saw, War Horse - This was a fabulous production by the national theatrecompany at The New London Theatre in Drury Lane. The cast were fabulous. A very moving story set during the 1st World War. Life size puppets were used for horses and a goose. Excellent, excellent,excellent......   Collapse  Hide

London Visit

Stay Date: 08/03/09, a customer who stayed at 3* Queens Park Hotel in Bayswater wrote this review.

No veiw except for some steps from bedroom window. Overall facilities were very basic and the Continental breakfast was very poor. A good location though. Tube, busses and shops, pubs and eating See More  Read more information places close by. Hyde Park just down the road so if you enjoy a jog or walk it is all there. Walked through the park all the way to the center of town. So much to see and so little time to do it in. Wewould recommend the river tour to all. A great way to get to everything and rest the legs every now and then.   Collapse  Hide

Great Trip to London

Stay Date: 09/02/09, a customer from Trimbach who stayed at 3* Queens Park Hotel in Bayswater wrote this review.

We had a great time in London. The big negative point was the trouble we had at our hotel, as they first tried to give us a room with dirty, filthy and malfuncioning facilities and only after I See More  Read more information heavily complained, we got a refurbished one...What a pity, because the rest of our four days stay was simply perfect!!   Collapse  Hide
