White Swan Hotel Reviews (Alnwick)

White Swan Hotel, Alnwick. Hotel room cold. No heating until 5pm and none at all in bathroom. A fan heater was provided but the only square pin socket was at side of bed and heater would not reach to any useful position. Socket also not near mirror to use when drying hair etc. Our feeling is we were allocated a poor room as we were on a 'deal'. Thankfully we didn't prepay for evening meal as the limiited menu was the same everyday, so we ate out after the first night. Try Di Sopra (Italian) over the road from the hotel, above the Salvation Army shop. A little gem. Staff at hotel very helpful.

A very nice time was had by both of us, the hotel was fine, the food good, and the weather excellent. The only problem with the hotel was the parking, due to the one way entrance and exit system of the car park you had to drive all the way round the town to get back in. It would have been easier if the entry and exit had been reversed. We found the town had a good selection of shops. The castle was not open until 1st april, but the gardens were open, free as it was too early for the fountains and the flowers to be displayed.

A super welcome break at the White Swan in Alnwick. The room was comfortable and in a quiet part of the hotel. The hotel has benefitted from a 'face lift' since our last stay and was clean and inviting. Having decided to upgrade to full board we were not disappointed by the choice of food and the service in the famous dining room. There are numerous places to visit in the area or simply enjoy the amenities that Alnwick has to offer.
