My daughter and her friends are big fans of Harry Potter. It was a dream come true for my 10 y/o daughter, and had the surprise at Xmas that she was going in February. We visited from Bristol area this month. It was a little crowded, but amazing. You don't need the audio tour headphones, b/c the descriptions, videos and displays are good enough. The shop is pricy, but expected. It took five of us 3.5 hours to go through the exhibits. Thoroughly enjoyable and worth the wait. x Collapse
Magical but ridiculously overpriced!

I visited on the 19th February with my partner. The tickets were a Christmas present as I am THE BIGGEST HP fan you could ever find. Positives: - Some parts of the tour, such as The Great Hall and the Hogwarts Express really took my breathe away. It felt like you were really a part of the HP world and I jokingly whispered to my partner 'hp is real'! - Parking is great. - At the end I wanted to buy a door mat but when I spoke to the assistant she said I should have got it from the station shop and not the main shop. She found one in a cupboard for me and was so friendly. - Security guards were all really friendly. Negatives: - I am one of those people who just likes to touch things. Last year I went on a tour of the Friends set and loved in because you could literally touch everything. Obviously I understand that some things are just too fragile but, for example, one of the carriages on the train could be open to use. You can't sit down in The Great Hall either. It would be also good to have some robes, not necessarily the real deal, but a replica of the robes Daniel Radcliffe worn to try on etc. You get the idea! I just want to be able to touch things!!! - The food was very expensive. I enjoyed my burger but didn't think much of the butterbear. Would be nice to see some cheaper options. - I hate queuing. I don't know why but it jug makes me feel very anxious. When we lined up to go in it wasn't clear how long we were going to be stood there. If I booked a 4pm slot then I'm one of those people who wants to be going in at the dot of 4pm and doesn't want to queue. - It was, in my opinion, way too busy and could have done with about half the amount of people that were there not being there. It meant I couldn't really look at things in the Great Hall very well. At the end when everyone moved on I was planning to hang back and take some photos of Dumbledore etc but then they told me its time for the next group. If im paying all that money then I want my photo of Dumbledore and the next group will just have to wait. At one point the staff member was saying 'shuffle down, shuffle down' and everyone had the same expression of not wanting to. You don't pay all that money to be packed in like a sardine. - The shop was badly laid out. As I was above the staff member was very helpful but it would have been better to lay it out in a more organised fashion. - Tripadvisor: I have noticed from reading other bad reviews that HP tend to comment and ask people to email in with the problem they had. That's very nice of them and I hope everyone's problems have been solved however it seems to me like its just a way for them to appear to solve everyone's problems without actually making any changes. A lot of people have said it is overpriced but will they reduce the prices...NO! - The price: If I'm paying all that money just to get in and money for petrol to come half way across the country then I want to be made to feel special. I want a free butterbeer on the house or I want a free picture to take home. I just want to be wowed. This place didn't do that for me and slightly made me feel like cattle being herded. Overall: 3 out of 5. I probably won't be back. It was a lovely day out but due to all the negatives I can't justify a second visit. Collapse
Best experience for HP-fans!

This place is NOT to be missed if you are a Harry Potter fan! It’s simply amazing to see all the sets, props, costumes and more from the movies, and it’s a very immersive experience. The staff is also nice - shout out to the very nice employee in the wand shop who gave me and my boyfriend Hogwarts letters for being hardcore fans - you’re awesome! I would recommend arriving early in the day (e.g. 10 AM), as it gets quite crowded later on. Bring some cash for the shuttle bus, if you’re arriving from Waterford Junction (I think 2,5£ per person but check the website). You are able to walk around on your own on the tour and enjoy the sets at your own pace. Highlights would be the Great Hall, Diagon Alley, The Forbidden Forest and the Hogwarts miniature. Activities such as broomstick CGI-pictures, Hogwarts train CGI-pictures, etc. are also available (suited for children/families). Can definitely recommend and could have stayed for many more hours (we ‘contained’ ourselves to 5). Collapse

We had a great day visiting the Harry Potter Studios and seeing just how much work and detail went into the whole production. The day was let down though by the ridiculously high prices being charged in the gift shop as well as for photos/usbs of the broomstick ride and for ButterBeer in the cafes. I have two boys aged 5 and 9 who were extremely excited to spend their pocket money totalling £90 which they had saved. They came away with very little change after being charged £29 each for a wand and £9 for a chocolate frog! They both wanted to buy the USB of their broomstick rides but at £25 each they had to walk away disappointed. I don't understand why Warner Brothers have to be so greedy in charging such high prices for souveneirs when they have already made so much money out the films themselves and ticket prices. It did leave a bitter taste in my mouth to what would have otherwise been a great day out for the whole family. Collapse
