My daughter (7 years old) and I went here on a recent trip and had a lot of fun. We took the bus from Watford Junction to the studio, which is run by a separate company and you have to pay for separately when you board the bus. They say on their website that they can hold your bags in the cloak room, and while that is true they have to check each bag by hand before you can bring them in the building. Since we were leaving London on a train out of Watford Junction that night we had our suitcases with us and it wasn't very fun to have them all checked, but the employees were good natured about it. Unfortunately if you are traveling somewhere by train there really isn't anywhere else you can store your luggage between Watford Junction and the studio. While the lines may seem long at first they seem to have a pretty good grasp on how to get people moving through them quickly. For a big Harry Potter fan this who experience is a lot of fun. However, even though my daughter is a big Harry Potter fan she is only 7 years old, walking around and looking at stuff got a little dull for her after awhile. This was a once in a lifetime trip but I wish we could have saved this till she was a few years older. I only have two negative things to say about our visit, 1) It costs a lot of money and you should expect to spend even more money once you're in there, so don't think that the cost of your ticket is all you are going to spend. You don't "have" to buy the food or souvenirs or pictures, but honestly all of that stuff is part of the reason that everyone goes. Every time you turn around in there there is another opportunity for you to spend more money. 2) The employees at the broomstick riding pictures were either extremely rude or extremely bored. They would act very put out because a child would ask if they could wear a certain house robe while they were on the broomstick. Frankly for the amount of money that you fork over for a 10 second green screen video the least that they could do it let you pick if you want to wear gryffindor or hufflepuff robes... Collapse
Absolutely magical - you will need more time than you think!

I have been to this attraction already 4 times before with my own children & friends and this time I came here with my young adult nephew & niece and yet again we all had a most magical day! Everything is totally captivating, amazing and real, has a totally authentic feel and the ambient is truly magical! You will definitely not regret coming provided you are even the tiniest bit interested in the Harry Potter films and books. (Potter boffins will feel like they've died and gone to Potter heaven!) This place is stuffed to the rafters with amazing sets, backdrops, costumes, wigs, props and items big and small from the Harry Potter films. Everything is magical and you can just totally immerse yourself in the amazing world of these films and really the unbelievable attention to every single last little detail shines through even in the tiniest items all the way to the complete sets of some film parts. What's most striking is the love and care that has gone into every last tiny little thing and you come away realising that it must have been truly magical for all the cast & crew to have been together and worked and grown up together for ten years. It kind of feels almost like a privilege having been granted a glimpse into their world and you can't help feeling a tiny bit part of it for having seen so many wonderful original things from the films..... This time I took out the audio guide (£4.99) and it was really worth it for all the extra information and helped fill the moments for me where I had to wait for the others to finish reading through all the descriptions or riding broomsticks...... Food in the cafe in the middle of the attraction was much better than previously and the butter beer is worth a try, but possibly one for sharing unless you adore sweet & sticky! The very new forbidden forest part is cool and we liked it, but you don't have to come specially for that alone. If you hate spiders (or dislike strobe effects - health reasons or otherwise) you can get round that little extra part without missing anything else - a real bonus for Arachnophobiacs.... Generally for this attraction I would say that it's worth every penny, but be warned: A) you might spend A LOT longer here than you'd bargained for. 6 1/2 hours can go just like that......so the earlier time slots are better if you want to have plenty of time to see everything and read all the information etc. There are several interactive things to do as well.....wont spoil it, but it's all fun! B) avoid spending too much time in the shop unless you don't mind coming home with countless souvenirs - it's all brilliant, but also unfortunately quite pricey. The staff were without exception fabulously friendly, helpful, kind and also very knowledgeable. You get the feeling they really love Harry Potter and love to help you. That's so refreshing and so fun! Thanks a million! It really contributes to making the day even more special. You will almost certainly go away wanting to watch all the films all over again.....and you might wish it was all as real as it seems when you are at Leavesden Studios! Collapse

We bought a groupon ticket for the studio. This included free souvenirs and dinner. The tour of the studio is amazing! I am a big Harry Potter fan so obviously it was a unique experience for me, but what I realised was the amount of talent, skill, technology, creativity & hard work that go into the making of a movie. I applaud the entire team of Harry Potter! Collapse

A tad out of the way, but worth the time and effort. Any lover of the Harry Potter series will be enthralled. Sets, wardrobes, wigs and props are displayed throughout the space. As with all good attractions, it ends...in the gift shop.
