Myself and 5 of my friends visited for Fright Night and the whole day from start to finish was an absolute joke. We did obviously expect some queues however the extent of the queues was beyond ridiculous with us arriving around 10am and being in a long queue to get into the actual park to start with followed by another 40 minute wait to have our bags checked (only 2 members of staff to do this was sufficient enough apparently...). Upon actually entering the park itself you could instantly see how busy the park was and the ride wait times were already hitting 120 minute waits... after queuing for Stealth for 120 minutes with multiple people smoking cigarettes, vaping and drugs (around children, with no staff controlling this - disgusting) we check the wait times to see every ride has a wait time of 2/3 hours! We’d travelled some distance for the event and assumed that the ride times would only continue to rise we felt we had no option than to purchase their fast track tickets - it seems everyone had this same idea (perhaps this was Thorpe Parks intention of extra money full well knowing guests would purchase these given the extreme amount of visitors?). We waited to purchase fast track in a queue which lasted an additional hour and a half. During which some of us decided to get food (none of the queue stands were open?!), they returned an hour later having queued for this time with no food having thrown it away as it was soggy and absolutely disgusting. The main rides themselves are great once and IF you actually get on them (although colossus was very stiff and resulted in us feeling quite bashed up). We then decided to head for the mazes, again waiting times were insane at 2/3 hours but we had fast track for Saw and Platform 15. Saw was awful, there was possibly around 4/5 actors in the whole maze and we simply just walked through and out within 30 seconds. When we came out we saw the wait time at 3 hours and had we had waited this time would have felt extremely disappointed and hard done by. Platform 15 was pretty good to start with, we loved the concept of it however again there was around 4/5 actors and the final stage of the maze was essentially just walking through a long tunnel - were still unsure if we had missed something here? Finally we headed for one of the walking dead mazes with a 160 wait time, we get near the front for all the lights to be turned on and staff to tell us that the ride had malfunctioned. At this point we’d completely given up at complaining and waited for Swarm (which was brilliant) in the freezing cold for another 160 minutes instead. To top this disastrous day out off, to exit the car park took another 40 minutes as the staff seem to be unable to manoeuvre the traffic anywhere! The whole day from when we left at around 10pm we managed to get onto four rides and two mazes. Had we not reluctantly purchased the fast track we probably wouldn’t have managed more than 2 rides and a maze. The entire day cost us much more money than we had expected to pay. On top of the above the park was filthy, bathrooms unchecked and the ‘Halloween’ side of things was minimal, we expected actors to be walking around or horror style decorations but there was nothing other than some edgy music! There was nothing about Fright Night that was even remotely frightening. I normally avoid TripAdvisor reviews however there has been no response or acknowledgement from my email sent weeks ago despite their “we will get back to you in 10 days” automated response. Safe to say we will be avoiding Thorpe Park for future. Collapse

On the 25th I attended Thorpe Park and was disappointed by the lack of rule enforcement. It clearly states throughout the park that it is a no smoking area and I was met by numerous amounts of smokers. Not only that, but there was a heavy presence of drugs both in the queues and outside around the park. When you’re stuck in queues reaching 2 hours and all you can smell is marijuana? Not how I wanted to spend my time. When questing the many people doing it I was met by blank faces. You have a bag search team, but they clearly did a shoddy job with the sheer number of drugs being consumed. Its particularly scary with the number of children I was with and around, it’s not an environment that I will ever place children under again. Second hand smoke both from cigarettes and marijuana is harmful to young children. Though what was particularly frightening is the number of children I saw smoking and doing drugs themselves, 12-year-olds shouldn’t be allowed inside the park when they’re clearly carrying dangerous substances. I’m just writing this so you’re aware that your company is not adhering to the rules set up around Thorpe Park. I’m truly disgusted. Collapse
Really poor. Gone down hill

The 3 times we have visited Thorpe this year has all been disappointing. We bought a pass for the year which seemed good value at the time but the way this place is being run into the ground is quite bad. There are so many rides closed now. Many boarded up, some open late, others break down all the time. The places seems in need for some tlc and a clean up. There is no excuse for lack of cleanliness.Toilets were dire. Left food on tables and dirty counters in the restaurant is just not on this day and age especially after spending a lot of money on passes. We will not renew them. We were speaking to another couple and they said it has changed for the worse over the last few years. I won't even mention the queues. Really bad. Collapse

Awful experience, went on fright night so expected it to be busy, really wanted to try the ghost train so went straight to queue was told the ride would open at 12 so we decided to wait, after 1.5 hours 12 came and went and we were told there was a problem but to continue to queue, after another 1.5 hours we were told the ride would not open that day!!! So off we went only to find 30 mins later the ghost train was now open!!!! I asked what was going on and could we join the fast queue as we were misled, was told no and we joined the main queue and waited 2 hours to get on the ride! So after 5 hours of waiting we get on the ride, I don’t want to spoil the ride for anyone who has not been on but my headset was broken so the ride was pointless for me, tried to tell someone but was sent off to 5 places until I gave up, I have emailed the customer help desk 6 times and have been ignored for nearly 4 weeks. So poor , sure there are some good sides here but I didn’t find any, and don’t expect any help, once they have your money they obviously dont care about you any longer, stay away!!!! Collapse

The kids really wanted to celebrate their birthday at an amusement park, and after much research, this seemed like the most logical for us. Overall there are many rides and they are in good shape, but the park is a bit disorganised, and loads of long queues, which I guess can be expected. The kids did not notice, they are all under the age of 10 and had a brilliant time. Collapse
