We went on Sunday 5th December. Gorgeous day bright and crisp so the park was busy. Entrance into the mansion at Christmas was priced at 9.50 adults and 5.50 for kids. For what it is. Very expensive. And they weren't doing any family tickets so you ha d to pay full price. There was a choir and it was amazing and very Christmassy. We went for lunch to the stables. However the queues were horrendous and the service was terrible. The way it's set up is hopeless adding to the frustration. When we got inside after a 15 minute wait in the queue. There was hardly anything left. Managed to grab an egg sandwich and a kiddies box lunch. But then had to wait almost 20 minutes for a coffee. We would have given up if my granddaughter hadn't been hungry. Then the prices are expensive for pretty average motorway service station standard coffee and sandwiches. I'd say take a picnic next time. Loads of people had done and I regretted not doing the same. Entrance to the farm another 6£ each. So overall it's a very expensive day if you add in the parking charge. We did enjoy the decorations in the mansion all based around roald Dahl books. Collapse

What a delight to visit this splendid house in Cheshire. Rooms dressed in tales of Roald Dahl. Breathtaking displays. All this followed by superb food consisting of a three course festive lunch. All superbly cooked to perfection. No long wait to be served due to an extremely confident and professional Maitre de. An amazing experience. Cannot wait to return before Christmas to take my grandson to see these amazing characters. Collapse

Tatton Park, it's a beautiful place to spend a day off if you are looking for a day trip with your couple, family or friends. I've visited this place with my couple a few months ago and I have to say it's lovely and I'm deftly coming back again. So let me tell more about it in different sections. How to get there: The first important thing you need to know is how to get there, the full address of this park is: Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6QN You can get there with public transport such as train, in our case, we used our car and we paid £6 for the all day parking inside the park. The size of the parking area it's big, and even dough we went on a Saturday morning during summer time, we still found free parking spaces. Things to do: As many places around the UK that you have to pay in order to visit them, Tatton is not the exception, and you must pay for most of the attraction around the park. But we get there later on, from starters, if you are just looking for a nice place to relax under the sunlight and have a nice a 'connection with nature', Tatton has a lot of places to visit and walk for hours . You have kilometers and kilometers of landscape to walk around. There's a small lake on the fields, a natural reserve for wild animals such as deer walking free and a big and nice forest with games for kids and tables and benches if you want to seat and enjoy the nature. The place is big; I promise you it's gonna take you some time to go through the entire park , so get ready to walk around if you love nature. Park's Parkland is one of the best places in the Park, it's deer park since 1290 with 2,000 acres of landscaped. By the other hand, if you are willing to spend some money, there are a few places you can go and visit. First, them all you have a nice little farm with animals, you pay £5 per person, and you can get closer to farm animals, feed them, get to know the life in a farm from the inside and if you have kids they have a nice place area for them. And of course, they can interact with the animals at the farm. I have to say that even dough I went as a day trip with my couple, most of the place it's built on for families with kids, as you can find playgrounds most everywhere you go. Another place to visit (it's, again if you are willing to pay) are both the Mansion and the Gardens. Two beautiful places that take you back to the 18th. In my experience, we were looking to spend a day outdoors and walking around nature, so we just stick to the park, the farm, and the woods. But I highly recommend visiting the entire place including the mansion and the gardens. What about eating? Tatton Park has two different choices for those who are looking to have a nice lunch after a long walk. They have both free places to sit and eat your own food and shops where you can buy anything you want. If you are looking for a lovely afternoon tea, then you must visit the Gardener's cottage, it's beautiful during the summer. Although, if you want to have a nice meal (not cheap dough) you can visit the Stables. But, again if you are more like an outdoor kind of people the park has big areas designated for barbecues and picnics. All you need to do is bring your own bbq, food and everything you need for a nice picnic. Just have in mind that during the busy time of the year, the place it's packed with families and of course with kids, so if you are looking for a nice relaxing area you might want to walk farther down away from the picnic area to have some silence and space. If you have the time, and you are looking for a day trip I highly recommend to visit Tatton Park during the summer, I promise you won't regret it. Collapse

Popped in Tatton park on our way to the Lakes, seen various shows from here and decided it could be worth a visit. A shock to start with HOW!! much to park bit of a shock, but ok theses places do have to make money. I have to say of what we saw we very much enjoyed the place spent a number of hours here and to us it was worth the visit. Tea shop normal expected prices and for once not that crowded nice cup of tea / coffee and the bun of course. We decided to wander down to the farm and the shop, a little surprised that there was a payment demanded to go in, we decided we had paid enough just to park and walked away back up to the Stable yard. We enjoyed the gardens and the visit overall, but were surprised by the "extras". We would recommend it as long as you know that there are extra fees once inside. Collapse
