The ticket prices are astronomical for what's on offer within the park. Add that to the constant opportunities for the LEGO people to try and part you with even more money and you've got a tricky time ahead with young children. Everything is twice or three times the normal price. Thankfully we'd read previous TA reviews and went prepared. The food there is cheap mass produced rubbish with Michelin star prices. It's a pain to carry a picnic but well worth the effort. As there were 9 of us, we knew lunch would be very expensive so used the money we saved by taking a packed lunch to offset the cost of getting the basic Q-Bot for £20 per head. £180 in all but well worth it! The basic Q-Bot allows you to reserve a place in a queue without actually having to wait in the queue yourself. This means that if you select The Dragon ride which had a 40 minute queue time, you come back to that ride 40 mins later and walk straight to the front of the queue. There are more expensive options that cut the queue time in half or even reduce the wait time to 0mins but they are much more expensive and in my opinion really not worth it. We used the Q-Bot on almost every ride without issue. The thought of standing in line for an hour with a 2yr old fills me with dread so the Q-Bot gets rid of this frustration. None of the staff that I asked directions from had any clue where things were in the park which was quite disappointing but I assume they have lots of new staff to cover the school holiday peak. There are a lot of negatives to this park, the Miniland has definitely seen better days and everything is super expensive, such as £12 per child to print the Drivers Licence they "earn" after completing the driving school but the kids absolutely loved the day. The pirate stunt show is an absolute must that should not be missed. Even if it's tipping down. Get there early! We arrived at 08:50 and bought BOGOF tickets (with Cadbury vouchers) almost straight away. Call into guest services to get your kids a wristband with your phone number on it just in case you get separated. Get a Q-Bot but the cheapest £20 option is more than enough. You the wait for the rides to open at 10am. Go straight to the rides that are not covered by your queue bot - there was only 3-4 rides not covered. And whilst your on those rides you can start your Bot queuing for another ride. You can't be early for a ride your Bot is queuing for but you can be as late as you like. They have little handheld key ring devices as Q-Bots but we used our phones to do the same thing. Just make sure your battery is fully charged! As soon as your code is scanned when you get to the ride your Bot has been queuing for you can select the next ride for your Bot to get in line on. My major issue is the constant and blatant attempts from LEGO to try and extract serious money from you. Literally at every opportunity. Also, if I'd had to queue for an hour to get on some of the rides you would be deeply let down and disappointed by the quality and duration of the ride. Disney it i not!!! It really doesn't feel like they have the customer experience at heart, it's just about ripping you off at every opportunity. As I said though, the kids absolutely loved it! Hope this helps.... We visited on a wet dull day and I think it was a really good time to go! The queues were pretty good and even walked straight on to the Learner Drivers and the submarines. I think the longest was around 30 mins. Our 5 year old had a great time and even though she is on the small side, there were plenty of rides for her to pick from. Toilets were clean and didn't have to queue once for the loo, which is almost unheard of! There were just a few things I thought let the park down, so couldnt give 5 stars. Firstly paying for parking. Total rip off, the entrance fee is high enough without adding that on top. I understand they want to encourage people to use public transport, but the high cost of parking is just pure greed. The queue bots were so annoying! Yes people pay ALOT for the privilege, but most people can't afford this luxury after the sky high entrance prices. It's hard to explain to a child, who you keep telling, everyone has to take turns and wait in line etc why someone rocks up and jumps in front of them. I totally support those guests with additional needs having access to rides without queuing, But having this option for the wealthy, just teaches if you have more money, you are more important and have more rights than others. Not a lesson I want to teach my child to be honest. Personally I think this should be scrapped and just made available to those who need it, more so than for those who can afford it. Some of the park could do with a bit of tlc, fences needed painting, lego characters needed a clean, just a little bit of time and money spent on everyday maintenance would make a world of difference. Cant comment on food, as we took our own. Overall a fun family day out, a nice treat for our daughter and would recommend to others. Collapse
Good but they would charge for air if they could!

This is a good theme park in a nice location. Lots of rides and shows for the kids. I should be giving it 5 stars but my arms are worn out from reaching into my pocket for all the extra cash you need to pay once you are captive in this already quite expensive theme park! First there's the 'Q Bot' queue jumping device ranging from an extra £20 - £80 per head. This would be better factored into the upfront price so that you could make a decision up front before you decide to go - it's also quite complex to understand- the cheapest one doesn't really buy you anything. All of the food is extortionate - bring your own food unless you just want to eat £5 notes all day. Its around £3.50 for a medium Costa coffee and serious money for soft drinks. The ride photos are £10 upwards and there's no bargains to be had in the Lego shops. They also charge you £6 - 12 for parking- BUT I have to be fair and say there's plenty to do, the queues were not too bad and we had a good day there really. Just feel sad for my wallet - which is currently crying into a box of Lego. Collapse
