Critically acclaimed double bill Untold Stories from The National Theatre will transfer to London’s the Duchess Theatre this spring. The duo of plays written by British playwright Alan Bennett will show at the West End venue from 22nd March 2013, giving guests on Untold Stories theatre breaks the opportunity to see the two autobiographical productions in their new home after the transfer from the National Theatre’s Southbank stage takes place.
The Untold Stories Duchess theatre production comprises of a double bill of plays that recall various stages throughout Bennett’s lifetime. The first piece, entitled Hymn, is a memoir of music in childhood; featuring a moving score by George Fenton and directed by Nadia Fall. The second piece, Cocktail Sticks directed by Nicholas Hytner, is both humorous and emotional and revisits the themes of Bennett’s previous memoir A Life Like Other People’.
Guests on Untold Stories theatre breaks will have the opportunity to see Olivier award-winning British actor Alex Jennings take on the role of Alan Bennett in both of the plays. His previous stage highlights include My Fair Lady where he was named Best Actor in a Musical.

Evenings: Monday to Saturday 19.30
Matinees: Saturdays at 14.30
