Girl from the North Country Theatre Show Information

After a sell-out season at The Old Vic and rapturous critical acclaim, Girl from the North Country transfers to the West End for a strictly limited season.

About Girl from the North Country

Irish playwright and director, Conor McPherson brings his latest play to the West End following a sell out season at The Old Vic. In a strictly limited 12 week run, ending on 24th March 2018, Girl from the North Country weaves the iconic songbook of Bob Dylan into a powerful show full of hope, heartbreak and soul.

The Story

Duluth, Minnesota. 1934. A community living on a knife-edge huddle together in the local guesthouse. The owner, Nick, owes more money than he can ever repay, his wife Elizabeth is losing her mind and their daughter Marianne is carrying a child no-one will account for. When a preacher selling bibles and a boxer looking for a comeback show up in the middle of the night, things start to spiral beyond the point of no return.

History of Girl from the North Country

Conor McPherson's latest play premiered at The Old Vic in July 2017 and ran until October. The play starred several stars of stage and screen including Ron Cook, Shirley Henderson, Ciarán Hinds, Jim Norton and Stanley Townsend. The Old Vic production gained universal critical acclaims with five star reviews from The Times, The Guardian, The Independent and The Mail on Sunday among others.
