Chicago New York provides the ultimate Broadway experience, and has wowed audiences worldwide with its compelling story and show-stopping soundtrack. The blockbuster theatre show is directed by Walter Bobbie and with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb, including the famous ‘All that Jazz’.

The Story

Chicago tells the tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz in an unforgettable extravaganza of dance, music and scandal. Chorus show girl, Roxie Hart is riddled with an obsession and desire for fame. When her husband discovers she is having an affair, Roxie is driven to kill her lover and runs away to get her name in lights. Roxie climbs her way to the top by turning herself into a celebrity criminal, and once she reaches the top, she makes sure nothing and nobody will get in her way.

History of Chicago

Based on the 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, the original Broadway production of Chicago opened in 1975 at New York’s 46th Street Theatre and has been New York’s longest running musical ever since. Chicago was once again brought to Broadway in 1996 and followed one year later on London’s West End. Now showing at the Ambassador Theatre, there is also a famous film adaptation of the classic play which was released in 2002, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere.
