About The Audience
Helen Mirren is set to be crowned Queen of the stage this year as she performs the role of Queen Elizabeth II in Peter Morgan’s new play, The Audience. From 15th February 2013 to 15th June 2013, guests can enjoy The Audience theatre breaks at the Gielgud Theatre, London and witness one of the finest actresses of our generation.
The Audience, London follows and depicts the relationship between Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the British Prime Minister, and their weekly private meeting of which the details have never been disclosed – not even to their loved ones. From Winston Churchill through to David Cameron, The Audience, London breaks the silence and opens the world up to what might have been said. In times of triumph and defeat, sadness and delight we see the true and sometimes confessional meetings of two of the country’s most powerful leaders. As politicians come and go, Elizabeth remains constant, wanting to welcome her next Prime Minister.
Helen Mirren has won countless awards for her performances on stage, screen and television. For her portrayal of Elizabeth II in The Queen, by Peter Morgan she received an Academy Award®, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and a BAFTA. On television she played the title role in Elizabeth I for which she won Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Awards. Guests wishing to enjoy The Audience theatre breaks should book soon, as Mirren’s talent alone is enough to warrant a sell-out show.

Haydn Gwynne who will play Margaret Thatcher, Robert Hardy as Winston Churchill and Paul Ritter as John Major.
