About A Chorus Line
Thirty five years since its original staging in 1976, A Chorus Line is being revived for the production of the year at The London Palladium. From 2nd February 2013 to 18th January 2014 , guests on A Chorus Line theatre break can expect to see a fabulous reproduction of a West End classic, choreographed by the original co-choreographer, Bob Avian.
After years of rumours, A Chorus Line London is set to return in spectacular fashion. When the show opened in 1976, it won nine Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize and an Olivier Award, and is no doubt destined for similar success this time around. The show follows the story of 17 young hopefuls fighting it out for just eight places in a new Broadway show. With wonderful music by the late Marvin Hamlisch including songs such as, "I Hope I Get It", "Sing!" and, most memorably, "One (Singular Sensation)", audiences will be up and dancing in the aisles.
A Chorus Line London is preceded at the London Palladium by Christmas classic, Scrooge the Musical. The venue became available after the new production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was moved to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. This lengthy stint of A Chorus Line productions is set to be a huge success and undoubtedly popular with audiences, so any guests wishing to book A Chorus Line theatre breaks should do so quickly.
Leading the cast for A Chorus Line London is John Partridge who will play Zach (Cats, Grease, Miss Saigon EastEnders). West End leading lady Scarlett Strallen will play Cassie (Singin’ in the Rain, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). Stage screen actress Leigh Zimmerman will play Sheila (Chicago, The Producers, The Girl in the Yellow) and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt will play Diana (Gypsy, West Side Story).
