A customer from HERTFORDSHIRE who stayed at 4* Domina Ilmarine in Tallinn wrote this review.
Our transfer from the airport to Hotel was very easy - a short (10 minute) taxi ride at reasonable cost. The hotel was faultless. Modern, spotlessly clean, fabulous breakfast (with everything you could imagine) and in an excellent location (5 minute walk) to get to Tallinn Old Town. Despite being close to the main road, the hotel was very quiet and we enjoyed a good night's sleep every night. (Though that may have had something to do with the excellent Estonian beer and wine we enjoyed!) Old Hansa restaurant is truly superb and everyone who goes to Tallinn should also go to Old Hansa for the authenticity, the atmosphere and the great food. It is a real experience that you won't get at home. We also enjoyed seeing all the sights that are easily reached on foot - the towers in the city walls, the Catherdral with its Russian domes, many beautiful churches and Kadriog Castle and park. We got a tram there (15 eeks per journey - you can pay on the tram and put your money through the little trap door behind the driver) and walked back. It took about 30 minutes but was a nice walk largely along the coastal cycle path. On our last night, after a fantastic time, we walked back to our lovely hotel. The snow had just started and the beautiful buildings and streets looked exquisite in the coach lamplights. Everything was just perfect. Then we slipped in the snow and came back down to earth with a bump!! This really was one of, if not the best break we have had. Thank you Superbreak!

February is a great time to visit Tallin there are no crowds and the weather is sunny but very cold.Tallin looks great in the snow. There are interesting shops selling cheap bric a brac as well as those selling expensive amber. There is contast between Russian Orthodox & Lutheran churches. An added bonus going in February is you can go cross country skiing at the Sports complex at Pirrita only a short bus ride from Tallin.(you hire equpment)
