Relaxing Stay

out of 5The short break was to unwind for 2 days. The hotel grounds were lovely to walk around and just chill out, good relaxing few days would go back. The only down side no transport into town. One taxi which had the night off, and nothing on from the hotel, so if you would like a drink the only option is to walk into town (2 miles!) or stay in the hotel bar.

out of 5We had gone to Stonefield Castle to have a relaxing weekend and this is what we got. The hotel was lovely and the food was of a high standard. The surrounding countryside and drive to get there is very scenic and worth going there for this alone

Lovely Location
A customer who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.
Stay Date: 07/08/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and the beautiful area. The seafood in the restaurant is top class, all caught locally, dinner and breakfast were efficiently run, and the panoramic view is the perfect backdrop. Various public rooms are available for guests, library, snooker room, lounge etc, the bar is comfy and opens onto a patio. Question - why oh why is there no scottish beer stocked? great selection of malts though. Rooms, well some are feeling their age, but i believe some have been revamped. Our room was one of the old ones, still comfortable but probably not quite 4 star, this did not spoil our stay however. Tarbert is 4 mins away by car, and is a lovely seaside village. The hotel grounds are 60 acres, and there are many trails for walking. Room tip: try for an even number, low odd nos are non sea view.

out of 5Hotel situated in beautiful grounds with outstanding views. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was well equipped and very comfortable with awsome view. Recommend a visit to kilmartin glen just north of lochgilphead. Large choice of walking and cycling routes linking various ancient monuments in stunning scenery.
