Seville Holiday Reviews

Plaza de Espana, Seville

Seville is the artistic, cultural, and financial capital of southern Spain. Known for its hot summers Seville has many impressive attractions on offer including Spain's largest cathedral, the Parque Maria Luisa and the modern day Alamillo bridge.

Seville Airport, also known as San Pablo, is one of the busiest in Spain but is just 10 kilometres outside Seville. Airport Express buses connect to the city centre making the journey to your hotel very easy.

  • Real Alcazar de Sevilla is a royal palace originally built by Seville's Moorish rulers. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered to be one of the most beautiful palaces in Spain. Highlights include The Courtyard of the Maidens, La Casa de Contratacion and the Puerta del Leon. The palace and gardens is regularly used as a location for film and TV prgorammes such as Game of Thrones, Lawrence of Arabia and Kingdom of Heaven.
  • Plaza de Espana is a large square in the Maria Luisa Park, the main green space in central Seville. Built in a combination of Moorish and regional architecture, the plaza and the park are great for relaxing, watching the world go by and even wildlife spotting. There are lots of green parrots living in the park and swans on the lakes too.
  • Las Setas de la Encarnacion is a huge structure in Seville's old town, meant to resemble parasols or mushrooms. It provides amazing views across the town and also includes a restaurant featuring panoramic views. Inspired by the arches of Seville's cathedral, "Las Setas" is a unique and unusual structure.
There are plenty of sights to see and things to do in Seville; take in a football game at Sevilla or Real Betis, explore the historic Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See or General Archive of the Indies. Make sure you try some of the local tapas, the most famous being spinach with chickpeas!

Days Out in Seville

Stay Date: 30/03/09, a customer from Merseyside who stayed at 4* Silken Al Andalus Palace in Seville wrote this review.

We visitd all the local sites, Cathedral and Golden Tower. We had a great lunch in the Jewish Quarter and wandered down the lanes and by ways. We ordered Tapas not quite understanding the menu and See More  Read more information just ate what arrived, we were never dissappointed. Took a trip on the train to Jerez and visited the Sherry vaults, sampled a bit too much sherry but still managed to find the train back.   Collapse  Hide

Seville Break

Stay Date: 24/10/07, a customer from Aldershot who stayed at 2* Murillo Hotel in Seville wrote this review.

Seville is a great place, loads going on, and feels completely safe. It feels like a real living city, not overwhelmed by tourists. Walking is the best way around, but its a big place. Great hotel See More  Read more information in the alleyways of Barrio Santa Cruz, loads of good bars and restaurants around. If only the hotel had had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Shopping centre around Centro is also good, always something more around each corner. And recommend going to Alameda de Hercules in La Macarena just to wander around and sit in bars. Best day - Sunday, when most of the population of Seville paradearound as families, filling the city centre.   Collapse  Hide
