Monster Weather In Inverness

Stay Date: 17/07/09, a customer from Newtownabbey who stayed at 3* Mercure Inverness in Inverness wrote this review.

Two day break. Inverness not seen at its best in cold damp July weather. Apart from the splendid River Ness running through it, the town has nothing intrisically to set it apart from any other See More  Read more information British/Scottish town of similar size. The Ramada Hotel was very good value overall - central location, on-site parking, excellent pool/spa facilities. The bedroom was spacious and well-appointed. Receptionstaff were exceptionally efficient and helpful. Restaurant staff at breakfast were less so, despite almost outnumbering diners they managed to let most items at the buffet run out. A little stafftraining would pay dividends. The Culloden battlefield site now comprises a carpark costing £2, a visitor centre charging £10 per person for a video recreation of the battle, making the visit very poorvalue for money - but only to be expected from anything run by the National Trust.   Collapse  Hide

A Great Weekend With Good Friends

Stay Date: 10/12/09, a customer from Bristol who stayed at 4* Novotel Edinburgh Centre in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Great hotel in a good location 10mins from grassmarket and within easy reach of the castle, shops and princess gdns. The German market and ice rink gave it a great christmas atmosphere. Excellent See More  Read more information shops and some good pubs especially The Shakespeare near the theatre. Good basic pub grub. If you haven't been to the Royal Yatch then its worth a visit and it's not that expensive to have a tour. Thereare a good selection of shops at ocean terminal and you can get there very easily on several buses from the city centre or very near the Novotel. It's best to get a day rider for £3 (very good value)the castle is wonderful but unfortunatly it was very foggy when we visited so we missed all the superb views from the castle. Edinburgh is great for a long weekend.   Collapse  Hide
