Weekend in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 26/04/13, a customer aged 25-44 from Peterborough who stayed at 3* Travelodge Edinburgh Central Queens Street in Edinburgh wrote this review.

We included train travel in our booking, which made the weekend to Edinburgh totally stress free, as Waveley station was very close to the Travelodge (Queens Street). The hotel location was perfect See More  Read more information and the centre of Edinburgh has a lot to offer, we enjoyed a visit to the Edinburgh Castle and had fun in the Edinburgh Dungeon (although this would not be suited to younger children). We had a lovelymeal at Zest (Indian Cuisine) and spent an enjoyable evening in the Jam Bar (fantastic live music). A little flutter at the Gentry casino finished our evening off perfectly. The only negative was ourroom at the Travel Lodge (Queen Street) was very noisy and it was like there were no windows in situ, when the adjacent businesses regularly emptied bottle skips throughout the course of the night. That said, the whole experience was very enjoyable and great value for money.   Collapse  Hide

Short Break in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 25/04/13, a customer aged 65+ from Gravesend who stayed at 3* Travelodge Edinburgh Central in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Good base close to Edinburgh old town only a walk away from the station and Royal Mile. Started with the tour bus which you can hop on and off and the ticket is valid for (from) 24 hours. You can See More  Read more information then select the sights that you want to see. Further afield the Royal Yacht is withing a 20 min bus ride and the station allows you to spend a day in another town. Coach trips are also near at handproviding circular tours of the lochs and mountains. The hotel was a bit basic but comfortable. Rooms at the front are subject to traffic noise so if you are not used to it take a rear facing room.   Collapse  Hide

Weekend in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 04/05/13, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Royal Mile in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Our family of four - inc. two girls aged 10 and 12 - had a lovely long weekend in Edinburgh. Organising the whole trip via Superbreaks was effortless and, most importantly, excellent value for See More  Read more information money. It was a spur of the moment decision to go so it was great that Superbreaks offered exactly what we wanted - a hassle-free, inexpensive weekend away. The London-Edinburgh train journeys werepainless and the 4+ hours wizzed by. Our hotel, the Holiday Inn Express just off the Royal Mile, was in a perfect location to not only to walk from the station but also to walk around the city sights. Hotelservice was great and the continental breakfast was much more than just that. We visited the zoo to see the giant pandas, did more than a bit of shopping and ate very well. All in all, a wonderful fewdays away. Thanks for making the whole trip both affordable and memorable.   Collapse  Hide

Edinburgh

Stay Date: 10/09/13, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 2* Britannia Hotel Edinburgh in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Hotel staff helpful and pleasant. View from the hotel room was lovely - river and woodland, but this was spoilt by accumulated rubbish thrown onto the flat roof outside room that had not been See More  Read more information cleared up. Minor things cosmetically to the hotel could make a huge improvement. The hotel was clean, though very very basic and tatty in some areas - but it was cheap and you get what you pay for.Reminded me of some youth hostels I have stayed in. If you want a no frills bed for the night it's fine. Walked from railway station - supposed to be 1.2 mls away from station - that may be as the crowflies, but more like 2.5miles on foot?   Collapse  Hide
