Great for the zoo

Stay Date: 19/02/16, a customer aged 65+ from United Kingdom who stayed at 4* Holiday Inn Edinburgh (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Large hotel ideal for children - good clean pool and children's buffet (they eat free with a parent eating). Very close to the zoo, a short bus ride to town centre and friendly staff. See More  Read more information   Collapse  Hide

Long journey as we had to by coach from Carlisle, but when we arrived the Travelodge was in a fab location and very comfortable, basic but didn't need anything else. A great pub just round the See More  Read more information corner called The Queens Head and fab breakfast at a cafe just past the pub - the name escapes me. Love Edinburgh.   Collapse  Hide

Break in Edinburgh

Stay Date: 19/02/16, a customer aged 45-64 from United Kingdom who stayed at 4* Holiday Inn Edinburgh (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Holiday Inn Edinburgh, next door to Edinburgh Zoo, one of the best Zoos in the UK. Choice of traditional restaurant and the Oriental Sampans which we thought was excellent. Good location as See More  Read more information parking was free (Edinburgh is not the friendliest of cities to park) and £1.50 for adult bus fare just outside the hotel to city centre. Rooms smallish with double bed and separate bathroom were quitepleasant, we had a lovely city view. Pool is quite small but has also a sauna and Jacuzzi and gym. We had a drink in the bar area which was alright. Only negative was the lifts were quite small and onewas out of order.   Collapse  Hide

The Low Road in Loch Lomond

Stay Date: 06/02/16, a customer aged 45-64 from United Kingdom who stayed at 3* Winnock Hotel in Drymen (Loch Lomond) wrote this review.

Deluxe bedroom was nice but television in bathroom did not work and curtains had been pulled off the hooks at the window. This was not rectified during our 3 night stay. On the plus side food was See More  Read more information excellent but much preferred the bar as had a roaring fire and the staff were excellent. Ate in the restaurant one night and found it very stark and unwelcoming. The only concession to evening diningwere wine glasses on the table. No effort had been put in to making it a welcoming place to eat, no candles, flowers or even a tablecloth which would have been nice. Staff in the restaurant were alsovery slow and we didn't even get offered a wine list and had to ask for it. Your staff in the restaurant need to take some lessons from the staff in the bar! Breakfast was also a hit and a misssometimes as we had to wait every morning for tea and toast to be served, sometimes having to ask twice for it apart from the last morning when the young man who served us was very efficient and could havetaught the girls a thing or two. This wasn't a cheap break and more attention should have been paid to the details.   Collapse  Hide

Edinburgh weekend

Stay Date: 04/03/16, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Holiday Inn Edinburgh (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Staying at the Holiday Inn Edinburgh (Zoo), it was the second time in around 5 years. Staff were very friendly, bar prices reasonable. A la cart menu was very basic, but there was an option of a See More  Read more information discount on bar meals or Sampans restaurant. Room looked a little tired and in need of a lick of paint, requested a high floor we ended up on the first floor. Lots of noise from central heating orplumbing during the night. No fridge in the room which was surprising. Room service wanted to be in room to clean at 9 am which was surprising for a Sunday. Swimming pool and leisure facilities wereexcellent. Local transport is excellent at least three buses stop outside the hotel which gets you into the city very quickly.   Collapse  Hide

What a break!

Stay Date: 05/03/16, a customer aged 25-44 who stayed at 4* Crowne Plaza Edinburgh - Royal Terrace (2 Nt Offer & 1st Nt Dinner) in Edinburgh wrote this review.

Booked on a SuperBreak deal, which included breakfast and dinner in the first night. The deal seem an absolute steal and it was! Location is a bit further out but just 15 - 20 mins on foot from the See More  Read more information station, which takes you past incredible views of Carlton Hill and Arthur's Seat. Worth the walk if you want to stay somewhere a bit more quiet. Hotel - lovely. Beds are incredibly comfy. Each roomhas lavender pillow spray which is a nice touch. Food - what you would expect. Lots to offer at breakfast, with options for you to order extra. Dinner was nice. It's not worth eating in purposefullyfor dinner but if it is included in your stay, then it's well worth it. Staff - exceptional! The best customer service I have experienced. All though we had issues with a broken toilet in our roomand the food at dinner not matching the menu, I really cannot complain because the staff we exceptional at sorting out our issues and they were more than happy to help. I would definitely return tothis hotel.   Collapse  Hide
