Shrewsbury’s early history is a mixture of Welsh and English influences, due to its location on the border between the two countries. The town’s heyday was during the middle ages as a thriving market town, benefiting from the lucrative wool trade. Explore the town’s history at Shrewsbury Castle and regimental museum, Coleham Pumping Station and Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery. The picturesque medieval streets now house modern high street retail outlets and independent shops as well as waterfront bars and restaurants and traditional pubs. Time Restrictions:Rail tickets are available for travel on trains timed to depart after 09:00AM Mondays to Fridays and at any time on weekends and bank holidays.
Using your ticket:Tickets are valid for 3 days within a 7 day period. When a passenger needs to validate a ticket, the date of travel should be completed in black ink using numerical values only for 'Day' and 'Month' e.g. 07 09 for travel from 7th September. The ticket will need validating before the first journey of the first day of travel.
