Superbreak Reports Record Agent Web Bookings & Aims to Switch Off Viewdata in Early 200730 November 2006
Superbreak reports that over 50% of all bookings made by agents in October 2006 were made via its website, www.superbreak.com/agents - the first time it has broken the 50% mark. As agents continue to use the web to make bookings, the operator aims to turn off Viewdata completely in early 2007.
Although a few bookings are still made via Viewdata, the operator expects for 60% of bookings through agents to be made on the web in November and is well on track to achieving this. The operator believes the recent improvement in web usage is partly due to the significant increase in server processing power it introduced in early October.
As well as using the web for straightforward hotel bookings, agents are increasingly using www.superbreak.com/agents for theatre, rail, attraction and event inclusive packages.
Ian Mounser, sales director at Superbreak comments “On the strength of this growing support for our agents website as the preferred booking method we are moving towards being able to switch of Viewdata completely. I would expect this to happen within the next three months.”
