Tutankhamun Comes To Manchester01 November 2010
Superbreak launches packages to new exhibition
A major exhibition has just opened in Manchester. ’Tutankhamun – His Tomb And His Treasures’ is on until 27 February 2011 at the Museum of Museums at the Trafford Centre.
This exhibition breaks new ground in the presentation of cultural history, in general and with ancient Egypt in particular. Firstly in its incomparable breadth of presentation - with more than 1,000 objects, painstakingly reproduced, the Tutankhamun exhibition is more complete than any previous exhibition of originals. Secondly, there is the sumptuous arrangement of the treasures. Visitors can enter the tomb and discover how Howard Carter felt when he discovered the tomb - it is an experience that will not be forgotten, just beware the curse!
Tutankhamun fascinates people. His famous gold mask is one of the best-known images on the planet, deeply engrained in the imagination of billions of people across the world. His mysterious death, his legendary treasures and the ubiquitously mentioned curse of the pharaohs fire our imagination. This is what makes Tutankhamun a superstar and a magnet that will always attract hundreds of thousands of people everywhere in the world.
