Rewind the clocks by 2000 years and enjoy a £5 million stage version of Ben Hur, complete with live chariot race, massed gladiatorial combat, sea battle, heaving bazaar and crucifixion blasts at London’s O2 Arena. With 15 years in the making by renowned producer Franz Abraham, Ben Hur Live will take live entertainment to a new dimension as it makes its world debut at The O2. Last minute packages including tickets and overnight accommodation are still available from 17-20 September through Superbreak, (www.superbreak.com).
Ben Hur Live is a 360-degree experience on a 2500 square metre stage with a cast of more than 400 people and 100 animals, telling the love story of Judah Ben Hur, a 1st-century Jewish prince, and the beautiful slave girl Esther, set during the time of Christ. It leads the audience on a fantastic journey, through deserts, on high seas, and into the hectic crowds of an Arabian bazaar - a truly dazzling kaleidoscope of human life and breathtaking action, in the world's biggest arena production. The production is thought to be a huge hit due to its success on Broadway and in the West End a century ago and then an acclaimed silent film.
