Superbreak Offers Tours Inside Houses Of Parliament
MP’s have been the topic of much debate in the news of late and whatever your political views on the 12 week holiday saga – the recess does allow the general public the opportunity to have a look around the Houses of Parliament during its 10th annual summer opening. Short break specialist, Superbreak (www.superbreak.com) offer packages which include guided tour tickets and over night accommodation at a range of hotels across London.
Led by a fully qualified Blue Badge Guide, the tours follow the processional route taken by Her Majesty the Queen when she performs the State Opening of Parliament and provides visitors with an opportunity to walk the corridors of power and get a real sense of the atmosphere within this unique building. Visitors can follow in the footsteps of Kings and Queens, Prime Ministers and Presidents as they tour one of the oldest representative assemblies in the world. Beginning at the Robing Room, the Royal Gallery and the tiny Princes Chamber and progressing to The House of Lords and The House of Commons, the 75 minute tour takes visitors through each of these fascinating areas and ends at the fabulous Westminster Hall, which at 900 years old is one of the most atmospheric spaces in London.
Morning or afternoon tours are available from now until 2 October and packages include overnight accommodation, entrance ticket to the tour and breakfast.
