March and April sees all the major theme parks across the UK opening up for the summer season. Thorpe Park in Surrey unleashes extreme terror in 2009 with the opening of SAW – The Ride. Alton Towers Theme Park will be opening a Sea Life Centre in Spring 2009 within the pirate-themed Mutiny Bay areas of the park. For younger children there is a whole new land – Cloud Cuckoo Land complete with live entertainment, indoor soft play activities plus a range of rides and attractions for the tiniest of tots. Plus of course there are all the favourites such as ‘Nemesis’, ‘Oblivion’, ‘Rita – Queen of Speed’ and ‘Air’.
When does it open? It opens on 28 March 2009.

Legoland Windsor is a family theme park with a range of attractions based on Lego and Duplo products, including models and over 50 interactive rides. New for 2009 is a brand new land – Kingdom of the Pharoahs. Treats in store include the chance to join an expedition into a lost tomb, armed with only a trusty laser gun on the brand new ride Laser Raiders. Or perhaps take the new Sarab-bouncers ride which may leave everyone feeling a little jumpy!

Drayton Manor Theme Park is located near Tamworth in Staffordshire offers some of the biggest, wettest and scariest rides around including The Bounty, Apocalypse, G-Force, Shockwave and Stormforce 10. New for 2009 is a 4D cinema, ‘The Curse of Skull Rock’ which is a 3D pirate adventure film enhanced with an extra dimension of 4D effects in the theatre. Plus Thomas Land (based on Thomas the Tank Engine and friends) boasts a new exhibition where visitors get to experience the original set from the Thomas and Friends TV show, plus in May 2009, Rosie joins the her friends on the tracks in Thomas Land.
