Great UK Break Deals For Families

Superbreak Mini-Holidays has launched its second edition Highlife brochure featuring 18 new hotels, further strengthening Highlife’s position as the most ‘value for money’ brand in the operator’s portfolio. In total, 625 hotels are now featured with a further 200 available online at www.superbreak.com/agents. Launching at a time when the ‘staycation’ trend is growing and when good value, last minute availability is key, the brochure will be into agents from 15 August and covers stays until the end of April 2009. Overall prices lead in at £20.50pppn at the three star Campanile Wakefield on a room only basis.

New hotels include:
* Four new Travelodges join the programme, bringing the total number of Travelodges to 88 across the UK. New additions include the three star Travelodge Brighton Seafront at £30pppn on a room only basis and the three star Travelodge Edinburgh West End from £42.50pppn on a room only basis.
* Three star Queens Hotel Penzance from £58pppn on a b/b basis
* Three star Elizabeth The Mill Hotel, Sunbury from £40pppn on a b/b basis

In the current climate, the operator is keen for agents to remember the Price Guarantee that is available for any bookings agents made through this new brochure. If an agent’s customer is offered a cheaper price for the same short break package by the hotel, then Highlife will refund the difference. Plus, for families, the deals include children under 16 staying free when sharing a family room or a 50% reduction for children in their own room, including all school holiday periods.

A typical example of a good value family break would be Legoland Windsor for just £232 per family of four including two nights in a family room at the three star Travelodge Heathrow Terminal 5 and two day tickets for Legoland for all the family.

Ian Mounser, sales director at Superbreak comments “Value for money is important at the moment, and the Highlife brand caters for this market well. The average spend per booking for a family of four on a two night Highlife provincial UK break this summer is £295, including any rail and pre-booked attractions. This demonstrates that it really is an affordable option for a family to get a break together and still enable the agent to earn an average of over £50 commission.”
