Superbreak launches exclusive new tour and workshop packages.
Everyone loves receiving flowers, but how about learning a little more about the colourful world behind one of the UK’s leading flower markets. Short break specialist Superbreak (www.superbreak.com) has launched an exclusive new package that includes a visit to New Covent Garden Flower Market with a leading expert to see how just how this early morning market works plus there is the chance to make a small arrangement to take home. Overnight accommodation is also included so budding Green Fingers can get a good nights sleep before the market opens.
The New Covent Garden Flower Market is not like any other – there are some 55 companies selling cut flowers, plants, foliage and sundries offering a one-stop-shop for all florists. Not only does product come in daily from Holland and elsewhere, it is the only place a full range of English product is available.
Available on 21 September, 30 November, 18 January and 8 February, this unique guided tour is led by Judith Blacklock, the author of seven bestselling books on flower design who has taught worldwide and has arranged the flowers at Kensington Palace and Number 10 Downing Street. The tour takes in the vast selection of cut flowers and plants with a chance to meet some of the UK’s long established flower traders and gain a remarkable knowledge of the early morning market.
Each tour is followed by a short demonstration at Judith’s school within the market, with the chance to make a small arrangement to take home.
A package costs from £165 per person including one night’s accommodation at the four star Dolphin House Apartment with continental breakfast, the private tour and workshop with Judith starting at 8.15am, plus tea and scones at her school. Guests stay on the Sunday night ready to be up early for the tour on the Monday morning. Price based on stay on 21 September with tour on 22 September and two share.
Other dates available are 30 November 2008, 18 January 2009 and 8 February 2009.
