Superbreak Launch 2nd Edition Theme Parks & Attraction Breaks Programme With Seven New Attractions02 June 2008
Superbreak had added seven new attractions to its second edition ‘Theme Parks & Attractions’ brochure including Disneyland Paris, Alnwick Castle, and the London Bridge Experience. The brochure launches in time for the peak summer period at most parks and attractions and the operator reports sales through agents are up 15% year on year for the four months from January – April, with 42,000 customers booked.
Boosting the operator’s historic attractions offering, Alnwick Castle in Northumberland has been added. Famed recently after being used as Hogwarts Castle in Harry Potter, it is the second largest inhabited castle in England and often referred to as the Windsor of the North. It’s ideal for families with lots for children to do including the Knights Quest where youngsters train to become a knight and after they have been knighted and proven their nobility they can take on the Dragon in an interactive Dragons Quest (be warned only the brave should enter!). There is also a tour to see the Harry Potter film locations. Prices are from £115.50 for a family of four staying one night at the three star White Swan in Alnwick on a b/b basis and including tickets to the castle.
For the first time, agents can now add Disneyland Resort Paris tickets when booking a selection of hotels in Paris. A one day, two park hopper pass is available which can be added to two nights accommodation. New attractions at the park include: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, an awesome new ride for thrill-seekers; a fabulous new character experience Stitch Live, a first-of-its-kind real-time interactive animated experience the kids will love plus there is new entertainment with a High School Musical show for all the family. Prices from £342.25 per family of three staying two nights at the four star Radisson SAS Boulogne on a b/b basis and including a one day, two park hopper ticket for all the family to Disneyland Paris.
London Bridge Experience is a new £2million historical attraction which combines an educational experience with stunning visual effects in the vaults and excavated tombs of London Bridge. Visitors are taken on a gripping guided tour of London Bridge’s 2000 year history using a stunning combination of special effects, real characters and animation. Braver visitors can then go deeper into the bowels of the bridge and test their nerve in the London Tombs, where human remains and historic artefacts have been discovered. This grisly tour offers Hollywood-style special effects and a huge scare factor in an authentic and extremely spooky setting. Prices from £142 per family of four staying one night at the three star Royal National hotel on a b/b basis and including a ticket to the London Bridge Experience.

The A5 brochure also contains 20 different London attractions, over 25 event and entertainment breaks, the full range of London and Stratford-Upon-Avon theatre breaks plus golf, spa and Orient Express packages. Ideal for agents to push to families during the summer holidays, children’s deals are available at most hotels which allow them to stay for free. All breaks are pre-bookable both via the call centre or on the web (www.superbreak.com/agents) and are fully commissionable so agents can maximise earnings.
Ian Mounser, sales director at Superbreak comments: “Many families sometimes find themselves at a loose end during the school holidays and our theme park and attraction breaks are an ideal escape and offer great value for money. Attractions like Alton Towers and Legoland are always popular but this year we expect things like The Beatles Story in Liverpool, the 2008 Capital of Culture and Manchester United Museum Tours, on the back of their recent Champions League victory to attract large numbers. I urge agents to promote these type of breaks during the peak season in the next few months.”
