Tut-Tastic Sales Opportunities Ahead For Agents08 November 2007
On Thursday 22 November, the long awaited Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition opens to the general public at the O2. According to Superbreak, never before has one exhibition provided such excellent sales opportunities for agents. The operator has access to a significant guaranteed allocation of tickets week round throughout the life of the exhibition and expects agents to book over 100,000 customers to it by the time it closes at the end of August 2008.
To date, agents have already booked 12,000 customers onto short breaks in London that include tickets to the exhibition and this is before the full media hype around the opening has taken effect. The opening comes at a time when Superbreak’s bookings to London are at a record high with sales through agents in the month of October alone up 26% year on year with over 20,000 customers booked.
Ian Mounser, sales director at Superbreak comments “The majority of sales opportunities for agents lie ahead once the exhibition is actually open and awareness grows. We have worked hard to secure plenty of bed stock and adding on these tickets to a London booking is helping drive up the average booking value of a London break and thus commission for agents.”
“Our sales for this exhibition demonstrate our strength in bringing in new product for agents to sell in a destination seeing unprecedented demand. 2008 looks like it could be an exciting year for everyone."
Tutankhamun Package - £63.50pp - staying one night at the three star Royal National Hotel on a b/b basis with a ticket to the exhibition the next morning. Valid for stays Sunday to Wednesday and based on two sharing from November 2007 – April 2008.
