A customer from Ambleside who stayed at 4* Vila Gale Tavira in Tavira - The Algarve wrote this review.
The eastern Algarve is characterised by its endless sandy beaches, which are excellent for walking as well as for sitting on. We parked at Manta Rota and walked to Monte Gordo and back. With a selection of beach bars en route and a range of places for lunch at Monte Gordo, this makes an excellent day. If you want an even longer walk, carry on to Ponta de Areia, the most south-easterly point of the Algarve with views into Spain. For more varied scenery, with low cliffs, park at Cabanas and walk to Cacela Velha with its dramatic fortifications. Cabanas has many cafes and bars. Another fascinating walk is to park at the western end of Santa Luzia and take the pontoon-like footbridge to the Ilha de Tavira. From here the footpath follows a causeway (complete with little train) through salt marshes brimming with bird life. This leads to a stunning, long beach.

A customer from Superbreak who stayed at 5* Tivoli Marina Vilamoura in Vilamoura - The Algarve wrote this review.
The Tivoli Marinotel was a hotel I frequently stayed in from a young age with my family. This trip was a chance for me and my Mum to re-visit old haunts, relax in the sun and enjoy some 5 star luxuries. We weren't disappointed. In the seven years since our last visit, the bedrooms and some of the public areas of the hotel have been refurbished, there was a new kid's pool and poolside bar - an extremely enjoyable way to get out of the sun and re-hydrate. The Marinotel is definitely a hotel where you pay for location. This time, we were lucky enough to get a Marina-view room, however a sea-view is equally as breathtaking. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with all the amenities we required. However, I would advise you to take your own hairdryer - the one provided in the bathroom would have been more suited to the local swimming pool rather than a 5 star hotel! The hotel staff were always more than willing to help, whether it was the concierge who arranged our taxi transfer to and from the airport or the housemaids who left a chocolate by the bed. The pool guy who provided lemony-fresh cold flannels each afternoon was always a treat as well! Overall, we had a fantastic three days away. The Marinotel exceeded our expectations, our passion for Vilamoura was re-ignited and we returned home revitalised, relaxed and refreshed!
