Polis is a pretty town at the western end of the island of Cyprus. This small and peaceful resort has extensive sandy beaches and is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Akamas peninsula and visiting the renowned Baths of Aphrodite. Troodos is the picturesque mountain range of central Cyprus.

Polis and the island of Cyprus
A customer who stayed at 3* Mariela Apartments in Polis - Cyprus wrote this review.
The Hotel Mariela apartments is a quiet family run hotel with clean,well equipped kitchenette, the pool area is a tanning dream though very hot in mid afternoon due to lack of breeze. Situated 5 minutes from the town centre where most of the restaurants and bars are, it is quiet and apart from the occaisional traffic peaceful and an ideal place to relax. As it was off season no children were around however, at the weekends it is used by the Islanders as a home away from home though the children were no problem. Looking at next next year for our third visit.

Polis, Cyprus was still developing - it was very quiet with few bars and restaurants and the beach was not well equipped or clean. If I was to return to Cyprus I would definately stop at another part of the island. It would have been useful to have been told that air conditioning was extra to the cost of the hotel as this increased the price quite a bit. Otherwise - the hotel was good value for money and very friendly.
