Zagreb a 'utopia' for museum fans

If you like to spend your holidays perusing the history and culture of a destination through its museums, then there is no better city for short breaks than Zagreb, according to a travel expert.
There are museums galore for art and history enthusiasts, with the likes of the Croatian Naive Art Museum, Croatian School Museum and Typhlology Museum, to name just three.
The Typhlology Museum is particularly unique as all of its works of art are created by the blind and partially sighted.
Zagreb's Croatian Museum of Naive Art, on the other hand, contains the works of untrained painters and sculptors.
Beyond museums, Zagreb is an exciting and young city that still remains a gem hidden away from many tourists.
"Nightlife here consists of jazz clubs and the romance of candlelit restaurants along its cobblestoned streets, while daylight serves up everything from the Sava River flea market to the Dolac farmer’s market and not one but two old towns," said Nadine Hallak, travel expert at Cheapflights.co.uk.
Between the fortified city of Gradec and the seat of the Roman Catholic archbishop in Kaptol, visitors can see an array of beautiful Croatian architecture, including the dramatic Gothic cathedral.
