Yorkshire Sculpture Park to Exhibit Roger Hiorns Installation
Date Posted: 04/06/13
There's a freshly installed art experience to enjoy at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, one of the country's best known art venues.
The piece is called Seizure 2008/2013 and is the work of Birmingham born artist Roger Hiorns. It can be seen in a structure situated close to the Park's Bothy Garden, Arts Council Collection has announced.
Liquid copper sulphate was used to create the blue-hued artwork in a London flat back in 2008. The result saw the environment filled with eye catching blue crystals. Now the piece has been moved from London.
"Seizure, 2008/2013 is an important and stunning addition to the Park, joining experiential works by James Turrell and David Nash. It will provide a thought-provoking and magical experience for the hundreds of thousands of visitors who will enjoy the work over the coming years," commented Clare Lilley, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park's director of programme.
You can see Seizure 2008/2013 at the venue starting later this month on June 15th. It has been loaned to the YSP for a decade.
The Park is home to an visitors centre with fantastic cafes and a large and exciting gift shop to enjoy. Why not look for rooms at Leeds hotels, book a weekend break and take a day trip to the Park?
