The X Factor final to take place in Manchester
Date Posted: 14/08/12

For the first time in its eight year history, The X Factor final will move outside of the capital to conclude in Manchester.
Producers of the ITV1 show are moving it from its home in Wembley Arena last year to the Manchester Central for the ninth series. Fans of the shows should, therefore, book short breaks to the city in December to catch the final, although the exact date is yet to be announced.
Before being staged at Wembley, the finale used to take place at Fountain Studios, just next to the Arena.
The new series commences on Saturday, August 18th. The four judges this year are Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Nicole Scherzinger, with Dermot O'Leary returning as the host.
Manchester Central, formerly known as GMEX is found in the Grade II-listed building of the former Manchester Central railway station, which shut for passenger use in May 1969.
