PDC World Championship finalist Andy Hamilton has been given a wildcard for this year's McCoy's Premier League Darts competition.
The Hammer was defeated by Adrian Lewis at Alexandra Palace on Monday night (January 2nd), but his reward will be to compete alongside the likes of Phil Taylor, James Wade and Gary Anderson for the £450,000 winners' prize.
This year's tournament gets underway at the MEN Arena, Manchester, on Thursday February 9th, with further rounds taking place in Aberdeen, Belfast, Brighton, Glasgow, Cardiff, Liverpool and Birmingham among other venues.
It then culminates in front of fans booking hotels near The O2 arena on Thursday May 17th.
Chairman of the PDC Barry Hearn said that he was looking forward to "what promises to be the best-ever Premier League Darts" competition".
"With Gary Anderson defending his title, Adrian Lewis coming into the tournament as a two-time world champion and Phil Taylor and James Wade looking to win back the Premier League trophy, we're all hugely excited ahead of the tournament starting in Manchester next month."
