Windsor Castle and Cambridge recommended for short breaks

Britons on the lookout for short breaks have been advised to explore Windsor Castle and Cambridge, as both offer historical insights.
Yolanda Copes-Stepney, destination public relations officer for VisitEngland, said that at the weekends Windsor Castle is ideal for all the family as it has enactments with knights, while the knight school teaches young girls how to become princesses.
She went on to say that visitors will also enjoy the medieval feasts and demonstrations which are often put on.
"Cambridge is full of history. Just taking a city tour is amazing. If you go to the tourist information centre you can get some mainly free walks and for a very small amount you can have ghost walks, historical walks and those kinds of things," she stated.
Visitors to the city can also enjoy a number of parks and green spaces, such as the Cambridge University Botanic Garden and Christ's College Gardens, which were a favourite of poet John Milton.
