War Horse to gallop off on a tour of the UK and Ireland
Date Posted: 03/10/12

Olivier and Tony Award-winning National Theatre production War Horse is to trot off on its first ever tour of the UK and Ireland next year.
To catch the first stop on the tour, fans of the war-time drama should book theatre breaks to Plymouth between Friday, September 27th and Saturday, October 12th to catch the show at the Theatre Royal.
It then heads to Birmingham, Salford, Edinburgh, Southampton, Dublin, Sunderland and Bradford, before finishing in Cardiff at the Wales Millennium Centre between Wednesday, June 18th and Saturday, June 19th, 2014.
It has been five years since War Horse first premiered at the National Theatre and this will be the first time theatregoers in the UK can see the hit show outside of the capital.
Adapted from Michael Morpurgo's 1982 novel of the same name, War Horse tells the story of a World War I horse named Joey who serves in France, while his previous owner Albert tries to bring him home safely.
It has also transformed into an Academy Award-nominated film in 2011, directed by Steven Spielberg.
