U2 confirm headline slot at Glastonbury
Date Posted: 24/02/11
U2, one of the biggest bands in the world, have been named as a headline act at this year's Glastonbury festival.
It follows the recent announcement that Coldplay and Beyonce will be taking to the stage in front of those on short breaks at the UK's most famous music event.
Last year, Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry were due to appear on the Pyramid stage but had to pull out due to the frontman suffering a back injury.
"As you know, I was at Glastonbury last summer - mainly to do a bit of a recce. On the Saturday I got up there with Muse and had a fantastic time. This year U2 are all looking forward to coming back. We'll be playing (Friday) June 24th and we'll see you there," Edge told the NME Awards last night (February 23rd).
U2 are currently on the second leg of their 360 tour, taking in venues around the world, including Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Johannesburg and Buenos Aires.
