Top Hat dances into London at the Aldwych theatre
Date Posted: 15/11/11
Top Hat will come to London in the spring next year following a tour around the UK.
Starring Summer Strallen and Tom Chambers, the production will open at the Aldwych theatre on Thursday April 19th and is booking until early 2013.
Those booking London theatre breaks will recognise Chambers from his winning appearance in 2008's Strictly Come Dancing, while he has also played the role of Sam Strachan in Holby City for three years.
Strallen has previously created the role of Meg Giry in Love Never Dies, while her other theatre credits include The Sound of Music, The Drowsy Chaperone and The Boyfriend.
Top Hat is adapted from the 1935 Academy Award-nominated film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and features a host of well known songs by Irving Berlin.
It tells the love story of Jerry Travers (Chambers) and Dale Tremont (Strallen), with the male dancer having to overcome a host of obstacles in order to win his beau's heart.
Currently, the Aldwych theatre is showing Cool Hand Luke, which finishes its run on Saturday November 19th.
