Steven Gerrard looking forward to "special" Carling Cup final
Date Posted: 27/01/12

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has said that leading Liverpool out against Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final at Wembley will be a "special occasion".
The England international has lifted two FA Cups, two League Cups and two Community Shields, but those trophies were all won at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff while Wembley was being built.
Fans of both sides are now making plans for booking London hotels and witnessing the final, which takes place on Sunday February 26th.
Liverpool made it through after drawing 2-2 against Manchester City, giving them a 3-2 aggregate win, with Gerrard scoring from the penalty spot in both games.
Cardiff managed to defeat Championship rivals Crystal Palace on penalties to book their final berth.
"It's been too long for this club to not be in a major cup final, so it's nice to finally get there. It's going to be superb for myself," said the Liverpool skipper.
