Stereophonics announce warm-up dates
Date Posted: 31/05/12
Welsh rockers Stereophonics have announced four intimate warm-up concerts in the run-up to their exciting appearance at the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park.
Dedicated fans should book short breaks to Llandudno to catch the band in their home country at Venue Cymru on Sunday, July 22nd. They then head to Derby's Assembly Rooms and Grimsby Auditorium, before finishing at Cambridge Corn Exchange on Wednesday, July 25th.
Stereophonics then play the opening ceremony with Duran Duran, Paolo Nutini and Snow Patrol two days later on Friday, July 27th. Each act on the line-up represents one of the four home nations.
The Welsh band became famous over the years for lead singer Kelly Jones' trademark bittersweet lyrical storytelling amid the band's bouncy pop rock hooks.
Their last record was Keep Calm and Carry On, which was brought out in 2009 and named after the famous British World War II poster. They are currently at work on a new album for release sometime in the near future.
