Spanish holidays 'to start making a comeback'

More people could book Barcelona hotels next year as popular Eurozone countries, including Spain and Greece, start "fighting back", according to an industry expert.
Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, said that despite these places losing a lot of holidaymakers over the last few years, there is going to be a "twist around" in 2011, which will see many people flock back.
"When we start thinking about August it remains reasonably expensive to go anywhere. So if you are thinking about going somewhere in the Mediterranean you can certainly look at Spain and Greece as places that offer more good deals at this time of year," he advised.
Mr Hall went on to say that it was also worth thinking about going to Spain at the beginning of the year, as it will not be as busy or as hot as during peak season.
He added that fewer flight costs and shorter travelling times are other advantages of going early in 2011.
His words came after Travelsupermarket.com revealed that Spain is the top choice for value next year.
