Slipknot and Rammstein confirmed as final Download Festival headliners

World-famous metal acts Slipknot and Rammstein have been confirmed to top the bill at next year's Download Festival, alongside the previously announced Iron Maiden.
Fans of the Iowa noise merchants Slipknot should book short breaks to Donington Park, near Derby on Friday, June 14th to catch their headline set.
Controversial industrial metal band Rammstein will close the festivities on Sunday, June 16th.
Iron Maiden are the filling of the metal sandwich, playing the final slot on the main stage on Saturday, June 15th.
Slipknot last played Download Festival in 2009, in a set that went down as one of the best headline shows in the history of the Donington Park event, according to Andy Copping, the vice-president of promotions at Live Nation, the firm who puts on the event.
The masked eight-member band released the greatest hits compilation album Antennas to Hell earlier this year, the first record since the death of their bassist Paul Gray. The two-disc version features a bonus live CD of their headline performance at Download Festival three years ago.
Attendees would also be silly to miss Rammstein; the Berlin-based metallers are lauded for their live show, which features impressive pyrotechnics and theatrics.
