Singin' in the Rain to end London Residency
Date Posted: 25/03/13
The highly acclaimed West End Musical, Singin' in the Rain, is to end its run at the Palace Theatre this summer.
Directed by Jonathan Church and featuring a cast of famous faces including former Brookside star Jennifer Ellison, the stage adaptation of the iconic 1952 movie began its residency in February 2012 after first winning over critics at the Chichester Theatre Festival the previous year.
However, anyone interested in London theatre breaks this year will have to hurry if they want to snap up a ticket to the show, after it was announced that the production will be coming to an end on June 9th.
Fortunately, those who don't make it to the UK capital in time to catch a performance will be given another chance to see the show later this year, when the cast embark on a nationwide tour beginning in November.
Featuring a number of classic songs including 'Good Morning' and 'Make 'Em Laugh', the show also recreates the iconic 'Singin in the Rain' scene made famous by Gene Kelly in the movie, recycling 12,000 litres of water per performance.
