Simon Cowell backs X Factor musical

A new musical could soon be added to the plethora of London shows on offer to those on city breaks in the capital, with Simon Cowell giving his backing to a stage version of the X Factor.
Rumours of an X Factor musical have been circulating for a few weeks, with comedian Harry Hill said to be working on a script for the show.
But music mogul Simon Cowell has previously held back from committing to the project, claiming he was looking into the long-term viability of a West End production before making a decision.
However, taking to Twitter last week, the X Factor creator seemed to confirm that the project is set to go ahead.
"Am on my way to see the workshop of X Factor the musical," he tweeted on Friday morning (January 25th), before adding a little later: "The X Factor musical is sensational! It's a yes from me."
It is not yet known when the X Factor musical will make it to the stage, but in the meantime there are plenty of West End shows on at the moment for visitors to London to enjoy, from long-term favourites like Les Miserables to new productions such as the Book of Mormon.
